7.1.13 Checking Shunt Release (Optional)

2. Open the Sunny String-Monitor.
3. At the shunt release, apply a voltage of 230 V.

☑ The DC switch switches to the OFF position.

✖ Has the DC switch not switched to the OFF position?

Possible cause: the voltage is outside the range of 70% to 110% of the nominal voltage of the
shunt release.
• Ensure that the voltage at the shunt release is in the range of 70% to 110% of the nominal

voltage.

• Contact the SMA Service Line.

4. Switch the DC switch to the ON position again.
5. Close the Sunny String-Monitor.

7.1.14 Checking the Undervoltage Release (Optional)

2. Open the Sunny String-Monitor.
3. Disconnect the voltage at the undervoltage release.
4. Check whether the DC switch has switched to the OFF position.

If the DC switch has not switched to the OFF position, contact the SMA Service Line.

5. Switch the DC switch to the ON position again.
6. Close the Sunny String-Monitor.

2. Check the earth connection and contact resistance to the earth potential.
