H. Lighting Instructions (IPI)

The IPI system may be operated with two D-cell batteries. When using batteries, unplug the transformer. To prolong bat-
tery life, remove them when using the transformer.

A.

This appliance is equipped with an ignition device which

automatically lights the pilot. Do not try to light the pilot

by hand.

B.

BEFORE LIGHTING smell all around the appliance area

for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor because some

gas is heavier than air and will settle on the floor

.

Do not try to light any appliance.

Do not touch any electric switch; do not use any

phone in your building.

Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's

phone. Follow the gas supplier's instructions.

If you cannot reach your gas supplier

, call the fire

department.

LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS

rn wall switch to the "OFF" position or thermostat to

the lowest setting.

rn off all electric power to the appliance.

4.

This appliance is equipped with an ignition device which

ait five minutes to clear out any gas. If you then smell gas,

you don't smell gas, go to the next step.

turn on the burner

, turn on all electric power to this appliance

and turn on the wall switch or set the thermostat to the desired

setting.

If the appliance will not operate, follow the instructions "T

supplier

rn off wall switch or set thermostat to lowest setting.

rn off all electric power to the appliance if service is to

be performed.

Push the gas control lever in and move to the "OFF"

position or push the gas control lever to the "OFF"

position. Do not force.

Replace the control access panel.

Due to high surface temperatures, keep children, clothing and furniture away

Use only your hand to push in and move the gas control

valve or turn the gas control knob. Never use tools. If the

lever or knob will not move by hand, don't try to repair it,

call a qualified service technician. Force or attempted

repair may result in a fire or explosion.

Do not use this appliance if any part has been under
