Changing display information

Press DISPLAY during recording or recording pause.
Each time you press the button, the front display panel
shows the time counter, tape remaining time, channel
number and the clock time in sequence.

● To display the VCR status including the tape remaining

time, the time counter and the clock time on the TV
screen, see “Showing on-screen display” (

੬ pg. 21).

● The approximate tape remaining time appears and the

"

" indicator lights on the front display panel.

● The tape remaining time is calculated based on the

tape speed (SP or EP) being used. The indicated
remaining time is only an estimate.

To reset the time counter, press C. RESET on the
Remote. The counter reading becomes “0:00:00”. It is
also reset when a tape is inserted.

Recording on one tape
repeatedly

Repeat Recording

You can record programs on one tape repeatedly.

While recording, press and hold PLAY (

3 ) and

REC␣ (␣

␣ ) on the Remote or REC ( ) on the front panel

for more than 5 seconds.
The record indicator on the front display panel starts
flashing slowly.
To stop recording, press STOP (

7 ) on the Remote or

STOP/EJECT (

7 / 0 ) on the front panel.

To prohibit operations during Repeat Recording
(Mode Lock)
Press and hold OK on the Remote for more than 5
seconds. " " and " " light up on the front display panel
(

੬ pg. 60). The recording will be performed repeatedly

without any interruption.
To cancel Mode Lock, press and hold OK on the Remote
again for more than 5 seconds.
● When OK is pressed to set Mode Lock, the on-screen

display appears and the time counter will be recorded
with your picture. If the time counter is not necessary,
set "ON SCREEN (REC)" to "OFF" (

Accidental erasure prevention

To prevent accidental recording on a recorded cassette,
remove its record safety tab. To record on it later, cover the
hole with adhesive tape, or set "REC SAFETY" to "OFF".
