Parental Controls, then

press

ENTER. The Enter Password screen

opens.

4 Press the number buttons to enter the four-digit

password. The default password is 0000. You
should change the password to a number you
can remember. The Parental Controls menu
opens.

5 Press or to highlight Button Lock, then

press

or

ENTER.

6 Press or to select On or Off.

7 Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or

press EXIT to close the menu.

Using closed captioning

Your TV/Blu-ray combo can decode and display
closed-captioned television programs. Closed
captioning displays text on the screen for hearing
impaired viewers or translates and displays text in
another language.
There are two closed-captioning formats:
Captions—This closed caption mode displays

text in a small box across the bottom of the screen
in English or another language. Generally, closed
captions in English are transmitted on C1 and
closed captions in other languages are
transmitted on C2.

Text—This closed caption mode usually fills half

of the screen with a programming schedule or
other information provided by the broadcaster.

Viewing closed captioning

To view closed captioning:
• Press CC to select CC Off, CC On, or CC On Mute.

Selecting the closed captioning mode

To select the closed captioning mode:

1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens with

the PICTURE menu displayed.

2 Press or

to

select

SETTINGS. The SETTINGS

menu opens.
