Adjusting the digital output mode

To adjust the digital audio output mode:

1 Press ENTER. The Settings menu opens.

2 Press or

to highlight Audio. The Audio

menu opens.

3 Press

or

ENTER to access the audio options.

4 Press or

to highlight Digital Output, then

press ENTER.

5 Press or

to highlight the digital output

mode you want, then press ENTER. You can
select:

PCM—Sends mixed digital audio over the

OPTICAL connection in two-channel PCM
format.

Bitstream—Sends the original bitstream from

the disc over the OPTICAL connection using
legacy audio formats. Blu-ray Disc audio is
limited to the soundtrack for main movie and
does not send PiP audio or audio effects.

Bitstream mixed—Blu-ray Disc audio streams

are mixed and encoded into a single
bitstream. Use this option if you are using an
SPDIF 5.1CH receiver and you want to enjoy
mixed Blu-ray Disc audio in surround sound.

6 Press to go to the previous menu.

Turning dynamic range control on or off

Dynamic range control only works when your
TV/Blu-ray combo detects a Dolby Digital signal.

To turn dynamic range control on or off:

1 Press ENTER. The Settings menu opens.

2 Press or

to highlight Audio. The Audio

menu opens.

3 Press

or

ENTER to access the audio options.

4 Press or

to highlight Dynamic Range

Control, then press ENTER.

5 Press or

to highlight an option, then press

ENTER. You can select:

On—Select this option if you play movies at

low volume or if you have small speakers. Your
TV/Blu-ray combo uses compression to make
low-audio content easier to hear and prevent
high-audio content from getting too loud.

Off—Select this option if you do not want to

use the Dynamic Range Control feature. The
dynamic range control gain value is ignored,
and the audio program is reproduced with full
dynamic range.

Auto—Select this option to listen to movies at

the dynamic range they were recorded in.

6 Press to go to the previous menu.

Turning parental controls on or off

To turn parental control on or off:

1 Press ENTER. The Settings menu opens.

2 Press or

to highlight Parental. The Parental

menu opens.

3 Press

or

ENTER. The password screen opens.

4 Enter your password. The default password is

0000.

5 Press or

to highlight Parental Control, then

press ENTER.

6 Press or

to highlight On or Off, then press

ENTER. If you select On, you will be prompted
to enter the parental control password before
being allowed to change the other parental
control options. If you select Off, you can
change the options without entering a
password.

7 Press to go to the previous menu.

Note

When Bitstream is selected, your TV/Blu-ray
combo cannot output secondary audio.

If a disc has PiP audio, you can select it by
pressing AUDIO.
