Display
If the unit detects a problem, one or more of
the following messages will appear on the
display.
CALL SERVICE 1
CALL SERVICE 2
L There is something wrong with the unit.
Contact our service personnel.
CHECK COVER

OUT OF PAPER
L The cover is open. Close it.
L The unit has run out of recording paper.
Install a recording paper roll (page 21).
CHECK DOCUMENT
L The document was not fed into the unit
properly. Reinsert the document. If
misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the
document feeder rollers (page 84) and
try again.
L Attempted to transmit a document longer
than 600 mm. Press {STOP} to remove
the document. Divide the document into
two or more sheets and try again.
CHECK MEMORY
L The memory (telephone numbers,
parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re-
program.
DIRECTORY FULL
L There is no space to store new entries in
the directory. Erase unnecessary entries
(page 30).
FAX IN MEMORY
L The unit has a document in memory. See
the other displayed message instructions
to print out the document.
MEMORY FULL
L There is no room left in memory to record
a voice message. Erase unnecessary
messages (page 63, 65).
NO RESPONSE
L The other party’s fax machine is busy or
has run out of recording paper. Try again.
NO TAD GREETING
L Your TAD/FAX greeting message is not
recorded. Record a message (page 58).
L The voice guidance feature is set to off.
Activate feature #47 on page 74. Pre-
recorded greeting message will be
adopted.
NO TRNS-GREET.
L Your transfer greeting message is not
recorded. Record a message (page 67).
L The voice guidance feature is set to off.
Activate feature #47 on page 74. Pre-
recorded greeting message will be
adopted.
PAPER JAMMED
L A recording paper jam occurred. Clear
the jammed paper (page 83).
POLLING ERROR
L The other party’s fax machine does not
provide the polling function. Check with
the other party.
REDIAL TIME OUT
L The other party’s fax machine is busy or
has run out of recording paper. Try again.
REMOVE DOCUMENT
L The document is jammed. Remove the
jammed document (page 82).
