Receiving mode

I cannot select the desired receiving
mode.

L

If you want to set TAD/FAX (KX-FT78
only), FAX ONLY or TEL/FAX mode,
select the desired mode using feature
#05 (page 70), and press
{

RECEIVE MODE} repeatedly until the

desired mode is displayed.

L

If you want to set TEL mode, press
{

RECEIVE MODE} repeatedly until TEL

mode is displayed.

The other party complains that they
cannot send a document.

L

Press {RECEIVE MODE} repeatedly
until TAD/FAX (KX-FT78 only), FAX
ONLY or TEL/FAX mode is displayed.

Copying

The unit does not make a copy.

L

You cannot make a copy during
programming. Make the copy after
programming or stop programming.

A black line, a white line or a dirty
pattern appears on the copied
document.

The glass or rollers are dirty. Clean them
(page 84).

The copied image is distorted.

L

The thermal head is dirty. Clean it (page
86).

The copied document is blank.

L

The recording paper roll is not installed
correctly. Make sure that the shiny side
of the paper is facing down and re-install
the paper (page 21).

Answering device (KX-FT78
only)

I cannot retrieve recorded messages
from a remote location.

L

Press the remote operation ID correctly
and firmly (page 64).

The other party complains that they
cannot leave a voice message.

The memory is full. Erase unnecessary
messages (page 63).

If a power failure occurs

L

The unit will not function.

L

The unit is not designed for making
emergency telephone calls when the
power fails. Alternative arrangements
should be made for access to
emergency services.

L

Fax transmission and reception will be
interrupted.

L

If the delayed transmission (feature #25
on page 72) is programmed and the start
time is passed during a power failure,
transmission will be attempted soon after
power is restored.
