commands, while your telephone answering device is set to
receive outside calls. Programming for use with a telephone
answering device (TAD) is always used in conjunction with
Rings Until Answer, detailed in section 4.5.

NOTE

The TAD feature only applies to answering
devices connected to the same telephone line as
the Model 1108.

4.6.1 TAD Enable/Disable

To enable/disable the TAD feature:

1.

Press SENSOR ON/OFF.

Press RING/TAD.

The Model 1108 will respond: “On.” (If the Model 1108
says “Off,” repeat steps 1 and 2 to reactivate TAD.)

4.6.2 Using the TAD Feature

1.

Make sure the TAD feature is enabled on the Model 1108.
(The default setting is disabled, so you must enable it
first.)

2.

Determine the number of rings your telephone answering
device uses to answer the telephone. (Most answering
devices require 4 rings; others are selectable.)

3.

On the Model 1108, program Rings Until Answer to a
greater number than the number of rings set on your
answering machine.

Example:

Telephone answering device, rings = 4

Model 1108, Rings Until Answer = 6
