THX Audio Setup

With the “SurrBack Sp Spacing” setting, you can specify
the distance between your surround back speakers. This
setting is used by Speakers A and Speakers B.

If you’re using a THX-certified subwoofer, set the “THX
Subwoofer” setting to “Yes”. You can then apply THX’s
Boundary Gain Compensation (BGC) to compensate the
perceived exaggeration of low frequencies for listeners
sitting very close to a room boundary (i.e., wall).

You can also set the THX Loudness Plus feature “On” or
“Off”. When the “Loudness Plus” is set to “On”, it is
possible to enjoy even subtle nuances of audio expres-
sion at low volume.
This result is only available when the THX listening
mode is selected.

Press the [RECEIVER] REMOTE
MODE button, followed by the
[SETUP] button.
The main menu appears onscreen.

If the main menu doesn’t appear, make
sure the appropriate external input is
selected on your TV.

Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] but-
tons to select “2. Speaker
Setup”, and then press [ENTER].
The “Speaker Setup” menu appears.

Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] but-
tons to select “6. THX Audio
Setup”, and then press [ENTER].
The “THX Audio Setup” screen appears.

When “Loudness Plus” is set to “Off”,
the “Preserve THX settings” can be
selected.

These settings are not set automatically by the Auto-
matic Speaker Setup function (see page 64).

between 1 and 4 feet (0.3–1.2 m) apart.

Note:
Cannot be set if “SurrBack Ch” is set to
“2ch” (page 96), “Speaker Type:
Front(Speaker A) or Front(Speaker B)”
is set to “Bi-Amp” or “BTL” (page 61),
“SurrBack” is set to “None” (page 96)
or “Not Use” (page 98), or “Powered
Zone2” is being used (page 132).
