FN1 Substitution Values

The Wedge and USB HID Keyboard hosts support a FN1 Substitution feature. When
enabled any FN1 character (0x1b) in an EAN128 bar code is substituted with a value. This
value defaults to 7013 (Enter Key)

1. To select a FN1 Substitution Value, scan the bar code below.

Set FN1 Substitution Value

2. Look up the keystroke desired for FN1 Substitution in the ASCII Character Set

table for the currently installed host interface. Enter the 4-digit "ASCII Value" by
scanning each digit in the Numeric Bar Codes on page D-1.

3. To correct an error or change the selection, scan CANCEL.

To enable FN1 Substitution for Wedge, scan the Enable Keyboard Wedge FN1
Substitution bar code on page 5-15.

To enable FN1 Substitution for USB HID Keyboard, scan the Enable USB Keyboard FN1
Substitution bar code on page 7-14.

Transmit “No Read” Message

Scan a bar code below to select whether or not a “No Read” message is transmitted. When
enabled, the characters NR are transmitted when a bar code is not decoded. When disabled,
if a symbol does not decode, nothing is sent to the host.
