Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on the Properties button, as

shown in figure 17 below for Windows XP (left) and Windows 7 (right). If Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP)
is not on the list, it must be added (installed). See the Microsoft

Windows user manual or the Windows online help system for information on how to
install the TCP/IP protocol.

Write down the PC’s current IP address and subnet mask below. If your PC is set to
“Obtain an IP address automatically,” make a note of that, instead. You will need to
restore these settings to the PC later.
