Transmission distances

The maximum distances are determined by the frequency and resolution of the

video signal being routed and which MTPX inputs and outputs (TP or local) are in

the full (video source to display) routing path. The tables below and on the next

page specify the recommended maximum transmission distances using Extron

Enhanced Skew-Free A/V UTP cable or UTP CAT 5, 5e, 6, or 7 cable, terminated

with RJ-45 connectors.

N

Resolutions marked with an asterisk (*) in these three tables have the same range

specifications at 75 Hz.

N

For all three tables the minimum TP cable length should be 50

' (15 m).

N

RS-232 serial communications can be sent up to 1,000

' (300 m) from the MTP

transmitter output (or RS-232 output insert) to the MTP receiver TP input.

N

It is possible to exceed the recommended distances; however, image quality may

be reduced.
