Rear Panel Operations

The rear panel has a Reset button that initiates two levels of matrix switcher resets.

For different reset levels, press and hold the button while the switcher is running

or press and hold the button while you apply power to the switcher.

Performing an absolute system reset from the rear panel

This function is identical to the front panel system reset (see “Performing a system

reset from the front panel” on page 3-41) without requiring you to power down

the switcher. This function is also identical to the

Esc

ZXXX SIS command

(see chapter 4, “Programmer’s Guide”). A system reset:

Clears all ties and presets

Clears all audio or RS-232 mutes

• Clears all output pre-peaking
• Sets all audio/RS-232 wire pairs to audio

Sets all input audio levels to unity gain (+0 dB)

• Sets all output volume levels to 100% (0 dB of attenuation)

System reset does not replace any user-installed firmware.

The mode 5 reset clears most image and audio adjustments. If you want to save

these settings, use the Windows-based Matrix Switchers Control Program and
the
File > Save MATRIX settings as... selection before you perform this reset
(See chapter 5, “Matrix Software”).

Perform a system reset as follows:

Use an Extron Tweeker or other small screwdriver to press and hold the

Reset button until the rear panel Reset LED blinks three times (approximately

9 seconds) (figure 3-66).
