1. Click the Messages tab.
2. Select the appropriate destination for the SMS messages. SMS messages are only
sent to one device. Messages sent to an email address require a gateway phone
number. Contact your service provider for their gateway phone number. In-Situ
service plans provided by AT&T have a gateway phone number of 121.
• Select A phone. Enter the destination mobile phone number, and a description (a
site name or other information) if desired.

• Select An email address. Enter a gateway phone number, and enter the
destination email address.
3. In the Retries field, enter the number of times the TROLL Link Telemetry System
resends a message (1 to 10 times) when communications fail. 3 is the
recommended number.
4. In the TimeOut (secs) field, enter the amount of time the TROLL Link Telemetry
System attempts to send a message before it is considered failed. 30 (the default
value) is the recommended value.
5. Click Add to set up individual messages.
6. Select an instrument from the Device drop-down menu.
7. Select the desired parameters for the SMS message from the Available Parameters
window. Click the right arrow button to move the parameters to the Message
Parameters window.

One SMS message holds up to five measured values from a single
instrument.

Instruments that require more than five values to be transmitted require
additional messages.
