Calculation of System Refrigerant Charge (kg)

The system refrigerant charge can be calculated using the following equation:

Example

Indoor Unit Model Ref. = DF10X-EZRE
Outdoor Unit Model Ref = CR16 Condenser
Interconnecting Pipework = 10 metres

From the Refrigerant Pipe Sizing Guide, the
liquid line size given for pipework length of 10
metres is:0.05kg/m

SR = LR + IR + OR

Where:

LR = L x m

LR

= 0.5 kg. (As calculated from above)

= 1.0 kg

OR = 2.7 kg

SR = 0.5 + 1.0 + 2.7
