Cause and solution

Problem

Causes:

XP Snapshot pairs are not created.

Displaying XP Snapshot pairs is prohibited by the filtering func-
tion.

Solutions:

Create XP Snapshot pairs. See “

Creating Snapshot XP

pairs

” on page 64.

Change the settings in the Display Filter pane. See “

Specifying

conditions for volumes displayed in the volume list

” on page 47.

XP Snapshot pairs are not displayed in
the volume list.

Causes:

A volume is blocked because a failure occurred in the hard disk
drive.

Solutions:

Delete the blocked XP Snapshot pair, and contact your HP ac-
count support representative. For more information about restoring
and deleting pairs, see “

Restoring Snapshot XP

” on page 64.

An error occurred while restoring the
pair.

Causes:

A failure occurred in two or more hard disk drives.

The breaker was turned off once and then the power supply was
switched on.

Solutions:

Contact your HP account support representative to solve the
problem.

A volume is blocked.

Causes:

Access to the volume is rejected.

Solutions:

Terminate the application software that monitors the volumes.

Change all XP Snapshot pair statuses to PSUS, and start the ap-
plication software to monitor the volumes.

A problem occurred on the application
software installed in the host computer
used to monitor the volumes.

Causes:

Some ports go offline because the access to the volume on the
other ports is rejected.

Solutions:

Wait for a while, and try the operation again.

If the application software is installed in the host to monitor the
volume, terminate the application.

When the host computer tried to access
the port, an error occurred and the host
could not access the port.

When problems cannot be solved by the solutions in

on page 74 or when problems that

are not in

Table 24

on page 74 occur, contact your HP account support representative.
