Using Speakers, CD Players, or Amplifiers

Your computer comes with built-in stereo speakers. If you wish to enhance the
sound quality of your computer, you can purchase and connect external speakers.
You can also purchase and connect other audio devices, such as a CD player or an
amplifier. If you want to purchase speakers, make sure the speakers are designed
for computer use.

To connect standard speakers to your computer

Turn down the volume of the speakers.

Plug the speaker cable into the Headphone jack

on the computer.

Plug the other end of the speaker cable into the speaker.

Do not place floppy disks on the speakers. The speakers’ magnetic field may
damage the data stored on the floppy disks.
