• If the play mode is set to Repeat Play or Shuffle

Play, it automatically switches to normal play at
step 7.

• If the MD is record protected, “C11” and

“Protected” appear alternately and the MD cannot
be recorded. Remove the MD, then slide the record
protection tab to the closed position (see page 24).

• The following items are either inoperative or cannot

be used during CD-MD Synchro Recording:
— The Auto Cut function
— The recording level specified in the Setup menu

Labeling titles during recording

If “TEXT” lights up or flashes during recording,
you can record the CD TEXT information on to
the MD as follows:

• Automatically during recording

When “TEXT” is lit, all track titles are
automatically recorded.

• Manually during recording

When “TEXT” flashes, press NAME EDIT/
SELECT on the remote, and then press
ENTER/YES on the remote to record the title
of the current track.

Note

Depending on the disc, the CD TEXT information
may not be recorded automatically.

Recording a CD on an
MD at high speed

— High-Speed CD-MD Synchro Recording

This function allows you to record from a CD to
an MD at approximately four times the normal
speed during CD-MD Synchro Recording and
Program Recording.

PLAY MODE

Insert a recordable MD.

Load a CD.

To record tracks in the order you
programmed, press PLAY MODE repeatedly
until “PROGRAM” appears. (If you have not
made a program, see page 16.)

Press CD-MD SYNC HIGH.

“HIGH SPEED” appears and “HIGH” lights
up in the display.

The MD deck stands by for recording and the
CD player pauses for play.
