Set the time to start recording.

Press – or + repeatedly to set the hour, then
press ENTER/YES.

The minute indication flashes.

Press – or + repeatedly to set the minute,
then press ENTER/YES.

The hour indication flashes again.

Set the time to stop recording following
the procedure in step 9.

Select the recording destination.

Press – or + repeatedly to select “TUNER t
MD” or “TUNER t TAPE”.

When you record onto an MD, select
the recording mode (e.g., LP2) by
pressing – or +, then press ENTER/
YES.

The timer recording settings appear, then the
original display returns.

Insert a recordable MD or tape.

If you use a partially recorded MD, recording
starts after the recorded tracks.

Press ?/1 to turn off the system.

To change the setting

Start over from step 1.

To activate/cancel the timer

1 Press CLOCK/TIMER SELECT, then press –

or + repeatedly until “REC SELECT?” appears
and press ENTER/YES.

2 Press m or M repeatedly to select the timer

number (REC 1 to 3), then press – or +
repeatedly to select the timer number (set) or “–
” (cancel) and press ENTER/YES. If you have
not set the recording timer, “.” appears instead
of the timer number or “–”.

To check the timer

Select the timer number (REC 1 to 3) in step 2 of
“To activate/cancel the timer”, then press ENTER/
YES.
The last setting appears.

Tip

When you record from the radio, the station name
(see page 53, or frequency when the station is not
labeled), the start time and the stop time are
automatically recorded on the MD.

Notes

• You cannot activate Daily Timer and the recording

timer at the same time.

• Do not operate the system from the time the system

turns on until the recording starts (about 30 seconds
before the preset time).

• When you record on a brand new MD, the first 15

seconds are not recorded.

• If the system is on about 30 seconds before the

preset time, the timer-recording will not be
activated.

• The volume is reduced to minimum during

recording.

• If you use another component (except for the

optional tape deck TC-TX595), you must set the
timer on both systems to the same time.
You cannot activate the component with this
system’s timer.
