Digital Zoom

Digital zooming uses digital processing to further enlarge the central portion

of the screen.
Pixel interpolation technology ensures that the specified number of image

pixels are still recorded when digital zooming is used.

1. From the recording menu (

p.34), select [DIGITAL ZOOM].

Use the jog dial to select [DIGITAL ZOOM] and then press the OK ( )

button.

2. Select the digital zoom magnification.

Use the jog dial to select the desired magnification and then press the
OK ( ) button.

The zoom bar display changes as shown below depending on the

digital zoom setting.

When you use the zoom in recording mode, the color of the slider changes

as it moves from the optical zoom area into the digital zoom area.

ATTENTION

Using the digital zoom lowers the image quality.

OFF:

Digital zoom not used.

20x:

Provides magnifications up to 20× when combined with the

optical zoom.

80x:

Provides magnifications up to 80× when combined with the

optical zoom.

Optical zoom area: Blue
Digital zoom area:

Red
