Output Carrier Disassembly
1. Using a 1/8" diameter punch, drive the Roll Pin (1)
into the Planet Shaft (2) until it bottoms against the
Carrier (refer to Figure 3-17.).
2. Using a soft face hammer, tap the Planet Shaft (2)
out of the Carrier (3).
3. Using a 1/8" diameter punch, drive the Roll Pin (1)
out of the Planet Shaft (2).
NOTE: The Roll Pins (1) should not be reused when reas-
sembling the unit.
4. Slide the Planet Gear Sub-assembly (4 - 7) out of the
Output Carrier (3) being careful to not drop the Nee-
dle Bearings (4) in the process.
5. Remove the 4 Thrust Washers (5), 28 Needle Rollers
(4) and the Thrust Spacer (6) from the Second Stage
Planet Gear (7).
6. Repeat Steps 1-5 for the remaining two Planet Gears
(7).
7. Remove the Thrust Washer (8) from the counterbore
in the Output Carrier (3).
