Note: The actuator may retract on its own when the HSM turns off due to the interlock condition
caused by exceeding the displacement limit.

a) In the Station Manager main window, click the Manual Command button to open the Manual

Command window.

b) Select the following parameters:

Channel: Ch1 (or other depending on your configuration)

Control Mode: Displacement

Enable Manual Command: Checked

c) Using the slider control, slowly retract the actuator until you have enough clearance to remove the

specimen halves.

3. Ensure that the HSM is off.

The HSM should have turned off when the displacement limit was exceeded. However, make sure that
the HSM is off before nearing the crush zone.

4. Release the grip and remove the specimen half from each grip.

Using a tool that keeps your hands clear of the actuator, grasp the specimen half in the upper grip and
release the grip. Repeat the procedure for the lower grip. That completes this Example test.
