Select the data format of the scanned data.

If you save the scanned data on the USB flash drive/memory card:
PDF/Compact PDF/JPEG

If you forward the scanned data to the computer:
PDF/Compact PDF/TIFF/JPEG

If you attach the scanned data to an e-mail:
PDF/Compact PDF/JPEG

Note

PDF cannot be selected when Photo is selected for Doc. type in one of the conditions below.

PDF and Compact PDF can be selected when Document is selected for Doc. type and when
you forward the scanned data to the computer.
Select PDF if you use scanned document for printing.

Scan res

Select the resolution for scanning.

If you save the scanned data on the USB flash drive/memory card:

150dpi/300dpi/600dpi

If you forward the scanned data to the computer:

75dpi/150dpi/300dpi/600dpi

If you attach the scanned data to an e-mail:

75dpi/150dpi/300dpi/600dpi

Note

When Compact PDF is selected for Data format, this setting cannot be changed.

Preview

Select whether you use preview of the scanned data.

Note

This setting is available when you save the scanned data to a USB flash drive/memory card.

5.

ADF orientation

Select the orientation of the original document when Document is selected for Doc. type and PDF or
Compact PDF is selected for the data format.

Note

This setting is available also when Auto scan is selected.

6.

ADF duplex scan

Select the scanning method when using ADF. When you select ON, press the right Function button
to select the stapling side.

Note

This setting is available also when Auto scan is selected.

7.

Reduce show-thru*

Characters on the back may show through when scanning a thin document such as a newspaper.
Select ON if characters seem to show through on the scanned document.
