On an unmodified American Optical model 110 series
microscope, all shims will be required. For a modified
American Optical model 110 series microscope, it may be
necessary to remove some of the shims. Remove the shims,
one at a time, starting with the thinnest, until it is possible to
go back and forth between the 10x and 40x with minimal
amount of refocusing. Contact StatSpin Technical Service
if assistance is required.

3.3.4 Microscopes Manufactured Prior to 1979
