Setting Up Memory Boxes
This section describes how to set up a memory box to use it for sending and
receiving documents.
A memory box is a location in the memory you can create to store scanned or
received documents for printing or transmitting to other destinations. However, the
main advantage to using memory boxes is that you can handle confidential
transmissions with ITU-T passwords and subaddresses.
To use a memory box, it is necessary to set up and store the different types of
memory boxes in advance. There are three types of memory boxes: Confidential,
Relay, and Batch Sending. For more information on using memory boxes, see
"Using a Memory Box," on p. 3-8.
IMPORTANT
• By specifying a unique subaddress for each memory box, each user can have their own
memory box, preventing others from accessing their confidential documents.
• Subaddresses stored in the memory boxes of this machine must be unique. They cannot
be set to the same value.
NOTE
• A subaddress or password can be up to 20 digits long and consist of numbers, *, #, or
spaces.

• You can store up to 50 memory boxes.
