Serial Number

The serial number (S/N) used for labeling and transaction storage can be

reset to 1 by pressing ‘SHIFT’ followed by ‘S’. The operator will be prompted to
“USE SERIAL NO?” Press ‘1’ or ‘Y’ to enable serial no. printing on standard
ticket output. The XC880A will then prompt with “RESET S/N?” Press ‘1’ or ‘Y’
to reset the sequence number to 1. If password protection is enabled, the operator
will first be prompted to enter the correct password before the reset will take
effect. Press ‘0’ or ‘N’ to cancel the reset operation.

Station ID Number

The XC880A can be given a station number which will appear on printed

tickets to identify the unit that printed the ticket. This can be set to any number
between 0 and 255. To set the station ID number, press ‘SHIFT-S’ and the scale
prompts for Serial Number as described in section 7.4. After the serial number has
been prompted for, the XC880A will prompt with “SET STATION NO?”. Press
‘1’ 0r ‘Y’ to set the station ID. Enter a valid station number to be stored and used
on future printouts. If zero is entered as the ID number, the station field will not
be printed on the ticket.

7.8

Label Storage

As mentioned in section 7.4, label formats can be programmed and/or

downloaded to the XC880A from a PC using available utility programs. The
SSLabel software allows users to create or modify label formats for supported
printer families. There is also a utility for downloading existing formats with no
editing features.
