5. After installation of the cover, ensure that no part of the platter touches or rubs
against the console enclosure. This will cause unstable and inaccurate weight
readings. Since you didn’t over-tighten the screws, the platter may be turned
slightly, right or left, to position it so it does not touch the enclosure. If the platter
will not move with medium pressure, the screws are too tight. If so, repeat step 3.
6. The XC880A is now ready for operation. Locate the AC power adapter, and
remove it from its box. Plug the adapter into a 110 VAC wall outlet. The power
input connector is located on the rear panel of the XC880A, next to the power
switch. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position and plug the power adapter into
the power input connector.
7. Turn the switch on. The XC880A will go through a short power on routine, after
which the scale will be ready for counting and weighing operations described in
the following chapters.
