Error Types

The Spell Corrector checks spelling and indicates erron

in the following manner:

■ 1) For words not found in the dictionary, a beep will sound.

@ The names of major cities in the world, abbreviations o

the 50 American states, common first and last names anc
frequently used contractions are also included in th(
50,000 word dictionary.

Examples: New York, Tokyo, CA, IL, John, Mary, don’t

2) A beep sounds if the first letter of a proper noun or if all

the letters of a proper noun are not capitalized.

Examples: Chicago, San Francisco, Tom

A period must be typed after all abbreviations. If not, a

beep will sound.

Examples: Mr., bldg., etc.

Beep Volume Adjustment

Any of 10 volume levels can be set from the Keyboard.
When the power is first turned on, the beep-volume is set
to the fiftfrievet.’

Field down the Margin Release (SPELL) Key and press the
“3” (VOLUME) Key. Each time this key is pressed, the voi-
ume increases one step. The volume returns to the first
level after it reaches the tenth level.
