Running the VitalsBridge

Because the VitalsBridge requires a network connection with the SimMan 3G’s internal router, there is a
specific sequence for initializing and running the VitalsBridge. Assuming that both the VitalsBridge and
SimMan 3G are turned off, the summary of the steps are as follows:

1. Power on the SimMan 3G manikin and wait until manikin is breathing
2. Power on the SimMan 3G instructor PC
3. Run the SimMan 3G Instructor Application software
4. Power on the VitalsBridge instrumentation, wait for network connection.
5. Run the VitalsBridge software

Step 1: Power on the SimMan 3G manikin and wait until manikin is breathing. Refer to the SimMan 3G’s
directions for use on how to appropriately power on the SimMan 3G manikin.

Step 2: Power on the SimMan 3G instructor PC. Refer to the SimMan 3G’s directions for use on how to
appropriately power on the SimMan 3G Instructor PC.

Step 3: Run the SimMan 3G Instructor Application software. Refer to the SimMan 3G’s directions for use
on how to appropriately run the SimMan 3G Instructor Application software.

Step 4: Power on the VitalsBridge instrumentation, wait for network connection. Use the toggle switch,
located on the side panel, to power VitalsBridge on or off. Once powered on, the VitalsBridge takes
approximately 6-15 seconds to initialize and attempt to connect to the manikin’s internal router.

Check the status indicator lights on top of the VitalsBridge instrumentation to determine power and
connectivity.
