The antenna is linked to the unit by a
hinge and can be folded in and out.

When the Traffic Assist is not being
used for navigation, the antenna should
always be folded against the casing.
The antenna only needs to be roughly
horizontal for navigational operations.

An external antenna can be connected up
to allow for reception in closed spaces
(does not fall within scope of supply).
There is a connection socket (which can
be covered) on the top of the antenna
for this purpose. If an external antenna is
not connected up, this connection should
always be covered again.

X

Open the cover by gently pulling its
exposed handle.

X

Connect the external antenna up as de-
scribed in the manufacturer’’s instruc-
tions.

1RWH
If the cigarette lighter has just been used
and is still warm, wait until this has
cooled down in its mounting.

1RWH
If the engine is switched off, using
the vehicle’s power supply through the
cigarette lighter will slowly drain
the vehicle battery! Do not therefore
operate the Traffic Assist for extended
periods with the engine off.

1RWH
Do not try to forcefully increase the an-
tenna’s swivel range. This will not en-
hance reception and could break off the
antenna.
