Recheck the tension of the top tether again and make sure that all slack is
removed. If necessary adjust the belt again (as described above).

Periodically check the lap and shoulder belt and top tether to confirm they
are snuggly adjusted.

Removing your child:

Open the protection shield by releasing the vehicle seat belt, sliding the
vehicle lap and shoulder belts out of the red belt guides, rotate the
protection shield across front of car seat and place on the vehicle seat
beside car seat.

5.2.3 Installation using the vehicle's lap belt and top tether

Open the protection shield buckle and Store both LATCH connectors into the
storage pockets at the sides of the car seat (section 7.1).

Selecting a vehicle seating position:

Select a vehicle seating position equipped with lap belt and top tether
anchorage (if available) (Fig. 38).

To locate a seating position with a top tether anchor, check the vehicle
owner's manual or contact your car dealer or manufacturer.

• Snuggly adjust the vehicle belt and protection shield around your child.
• The vehicle belt must stay snugly adjusted around car seat when in use.
• Secure the top tether to the vehicle whenever possible.
• An unsecured connector or tether hook can injure occupants in a

crash. Store LATCH connectors and tether hook when not in use.

• Do not use the LATCH lower connectors when installing with a vehicle

seat belt.
