Verification of a reporting device includes checking the time/date, Alarm SET/CLEAR status

and Alarm text for each alarm generated. The following steps can be used to create an

alarm.

1.

Verify that no system alarms exist before proceeding.

2.

To create an alarm, unplug the ISDN PRI-U connector from the 9145.

3.

An alarm (PRI-U Transmit AIS – Lost Signal) will be generated in approximately 60

seconds.

4.

Verify that devices set up to receive alarms receive an alarm set message.

5.

Verify the 9145 alarm indicator is on RED.

6.

Plug in the ISDN PRI-U connector.

7.

Verify that the alarm clears. The alarm lamp should go out, and the reporting

devices should receive an alarm clear message.

8.

Retrieve the event log and verify that you see the alarm with the correct date/time,

the alarm indicates PRI-U lost signal, and the alarm has a duration time stamp

indicating that it was created and cleared.
