Step E3

From a mobile phone dial the public telephone number of the analogue lines. The
ipPBX will answer the call and prompt you for the extension number of the person
you wish to call. Enter the extension number of the first Berkshire 5000 telephone.
The Berkshire 5000 telephone will ring. Answer it by lifting the handset. Confirm that
it is possible to hear at one phone what is spoken at the other. Terminate the call on
the mobile phone and confirm that the Berkshire 5000 telephone indicates on the
LCD that the call has terminated. Replace the handset of the Berkshire 5000
telephone.

Step E4

From a Berkshire 5000 telephone dial a “9” followed by the public telephone number
of the mobile phone and then lift the handset. After a brief delay the mobile phone
will ring. Answer it and confirm that it is possible to hear at one phone what is
spoken at the other. Terminate the call on the mobile phone and confirm that the
Berkshire 5000 telephone indicates on the LCD that the call has terminated.
Replace the handset of the Berkshire 5000 telephone.

Step E5

You have now made the following types of calls:

• a feature-code call
• an internal call
• an incoming external call
• an outgoing external call

This completes the Quick Start Guide. However the Berkshire 10K ipPBX has a very
extensive list of capabilities over and above simply making and receiving calls.
Please see the Web Administration Reference section for more information on how
