If your ISDN service conforms to EZ-ISDN 1A or EZ-ISDN 3A, you will also have VoiceMail. If the number
to which you have forwarded your calls is busy or does not answer, the call will automatically be forwarded to
your VoiceMail. With VoiceMail, the DIVA LAN ISDN Modem also supports Visual Message Waiting
Indicator.

Call Forwarding supports Reminder Ring. Reminder Ring causes your telephone to ring once (for about ½ a
second) whenever it forwards a call. If your phone has Caller ID (see “Caller ID” on page 98), it will display
details of the forwarded call.

Call Waiting

Call Waiting alerts you to an incoming call when you're already on the phone. You can put one call on hold
while you accept another, so you'll never miss a customer call. It works as follows:

If you receive a second call while on a call, a beep sounds. To answer the second call, press the Flash/Link
button. The first call is then put on hold and the second call is answered. You can press the Flash/Link button to
toggle between the two calls.

The call waiting beep is repeated 10 seconds later if the second incoming call is not answered.

Call Waiting can be disabled by using a code before dialing a number (e.g., *70). Not all ISDN Service
Providers use the same dial codes. Ask your ISDN Service Provider for the codes you should use.

If your phone is a Type II phone with Caller ID, the phone will display the number of the second incoming call
(the call waiting).

If you hang up while a call is on hold, the phone will ring for 30 seconds before disconnecting the call. It is
limited to 30 seconds as charges may apply for the call on hold.

VoiceMail

VoiceMail allows you to receive voice messages when you cannot answer a call (for example you are away
from your desk, or if your line is busy with a voice or data call). All unanswered callers will be forwarded to
your VoiceMail box, where they can leave a voice message.

VoiceMail supports Visual Message Waiting. With Visual Message Waiting, a flashing light on the phone set
indicates that there is a new message in your voice mail box. This feature requires a “Class R” phone with a
Message Light.

Caller ID

Caller ID lets you know who's calling before you answer, so you can decide how to handle the call.

Caller ID also works with Call Waiting, by displaying the number of the second incoming call (a Type II Caller
ID phone is required), and with Call Forwarding by displaying the details of the forwarded call.

Three-way Conference Calling

Three-way Conference Calling lets you speak with up to two people at the same time so you can accomplish
more with fewer phone calls. It works as follows:

While connected to the first person, press the Flash/Link button (this places the first party on hold). Dial the
second person's number. After the second person answers, press the Flash/Link button. You and the two other
people will all be connected. If you want to drop the last party added to the call, press the Flash/Link button.

Service Failure Tone

If get a service failure tone every time you start a conference call, and you did not use EZ-ISDN or ISDN codes
when ordering your line, check the assignment of the Three-way Conference feature key (See “Feature Key
values” on page 99
).
