Connecting the Domain to the
Network

This chapter explains how to establish a network for the SPARC Enterprise M3000
server. It contains the following sections:

4.1

Network Configuration Overview

This section provides an overview of the network connections of the SPARC
Enterprise M3000 server.

You can connect the SPARC Enterprise M3000 server to the network through one of
the four onboard Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports.

Alternatively, you can mount a LAN card prepared by the customer in a PCI slot to
connect the server to the network.

FIGURE 4-1

shows a user network, which is for

user access to the domain.

To isolate the domain from the network, skip the steps in

Section 4.2,
