Adding volumes to iSeries using iSeries Navigator

The iSeries Navigator GUI can be used to add volumes to the System, User or Independent
ASPs. In this example, we are adding a multipath logical volume to a private (non-switchable)
IASP. The same principles apply when adding multipath volumes to the System or User
ASPs.

Follow the steps outlined in “Adding volumes to an Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool” on
page 334.

Specify ASPs to Add Units to

Specify the ASP to add each unit to.

Note:

For multipath volumes, only one path is shown. In order to see the additional

paths, see “Managing multipath volumes using iSeries Navigator” on page 349.

Confirm Add Units

Add will take several minutes for each unit. The system will
have the displayed protection after the unit(s) are added.

Press Enter to confirm your choice for Add units.
Press F9=Capacity Information to display the resulting capacity.
Press F12=Cancel to return and change your choice.
