Troubleshooting an error message

Part 9

Troubleshooting an error message that appears in
the PC Expanion

Reading flash data…

While the PC Expanion is booting,
the following message appears.

Getting dynamic IP address

While the PC Expanion receives the IP
address automatically, the following
message appears.

DHCP server was not found

If the PC Expanion does not receive
the IP address from DHCP, an error
message appears.

If there is no DHCP server on the current network, click the
<Setup> button, select ‘Use Static IP address’ in the ‘Network’
and manually set the IP address. For the IP address and gateway
address required for manual setting, ask your computer
administrator.

Check Point :

Check if there is a DHCP server on the current network.

Check if a LAN cable is connected to the PC Expanion.

Check if the LAN cable connected to the PC Expanion is a Direct
Cable.

Check if the LAN cable is properly connected and not down.

Static IP address was assigned.

When the IP address is set
manually, the following
message appears.

Try to boot latest client

This message appears while the PC Expanion searches for the latest
version of the NCT-2000-XP program. If there is a host computer
installed within the same sub-network and the computer and PC
Expanion can communicate, PC Expanion searches for the latest
version from the host computer. If the latest version is downloaded,
the screen blinks once and PC Expanion restarts. The symbol next to
the message rotates while the latest version is being downloaded.
