Notes

You can send short messages yourself via the web applications OpenCTI 50 and
Aastra CTI 800. Please refer to the OpenCom 100 / Aastra 800 communications
system online help for information.

Short messages can also be sent using the main menu: 3 Messages > 1 Short
messages
> 3 New message (see page 36).

When you delete an e-mail message the e-mail itself is not deleted. You can query,
process and delete the e-mail with your e-mail programme.

Presence

The administrator of the OpenCom 100 / Aastra 800 communications system can con-
figure a Presence function key (see Programming Function Keys starting on page 45).

The presence function is for communicating your presence status to an internal caller.
When there is a call, the text is shown on the display of the caller, as long as the caller's
telephone is a terminal. Change your status using a Presence function key.

1.

Press the function key with the Presence function.

The Presence menu card appears. There are prepared status texts available.

2.

Use the navigation keys

to select the desired status. If a presence

status is not to be shown to the caller, select the Available text. Confirm the text
selection by pressing the

softkey.

You can also enter your own text. Select the Text menu entry. Activate the Text:
input field. First enter the text (max. 22 characters, if any longer, will automatically
be shortened) and then press the Enter softkey.

The presence status is changed.

The softkey lights up red when activated. Exception: The “available” status is not indi-
cated via softkey.

Tip:

Your presence status can also be set using the main menu:
3 Messages > 4 Presence (see page 36).

Notes

The settings of the Presence menu entry are saved on the communications
system and remain available after a re-start as well.
