6)

Use the grease pack provided to apply a thick coat of grease to the inside of the round bushings
that fit over the ends of the sway bar. 1997-99 vehicles use a round bushing with a straight hole
through it. 2000 and newer vehicles use a round bushing with an angled hole through it. Slide
the greased bushing over the end of the bar.

7)

Lift the Hotchkis bar up into the truck. Use the stock hardware to mount the bushing retainer
brackets to the frame. Do not fully tighten the hardware until the ends of the bar are installed.

8)

Make certain the front wheels are at normal ride height for this step! Swing the ends of the
bar up into the recesses in the lower control arm. For 2000 and newer models you will have to
rotate the angled bushing to best fit the recess. Use a 15mm socket to mount the sway bar end
caps using the stock hardware. Torque the bolts to 25 ft/lbs. If the bushing is properly installed
there should be an even gap to no gap at all between the surface of the bar and the inside of
the bushing.

NOTE:

The sway bar should be installed with the ends of the bar angled downwards on most vehicles.

The bar may fit better with the end pointed upwards on some vehicles. This will vary by ride height.

Check to see if the bushing fits evenly within the bushing. If the bushing does not line up evenly to the

bar, then try flipping the bar to line up the bushing. You are looking for the “best fit” of the bushing.
