Base Angle and Stiffener Shim Installation

Base Angle

1. Once the door frame has been placed and secured, continue adding necessary sidewall ring(s).

2. To the lower edge of the final bottom ring, attach the base angle ring. The base angle should be left

loose enough to allow the sheet to move down and settle when the jacks are removed. The base
angle should then be tightened.

3. Before lowering the bin, as an option, you may apply mastic sealer to the entire underneath side of

the base angle.

(See Figure 6S.)

Anchor Bolt and Shim

4. Next, lower the bin onto the foundation. (Holes in the stiffener bases should line up with the anchor

bolts.) Check for an adequate seal.

(See Figure 6T.)

5. Check for any gaps between the stiffener bases and concrete. If any gaps exist, use the shim plates

(FC-42077) provided to fill the gaps.

(See Figure 6U.)
