Chapter : Managing your NAS via its Web GUI

3.3.9 Configuring the IP / DNS / JumboFrame settings

To configure the IP, DNS, and JumboFrame settings:

From the navigation pane, click Networks > LAN, then do either of the following:
• In the LAN Port Network Settings area, select Manual DNS as the DNS setting and

key in the IP addresses of the DNS servers for your NAS. Click Apply when done.

• In the JumboFrame (MTU) Settings area, enable JumboFrame to increase the

network throughput and the data transfer speed.

To do this:
1. Select Enable.
. From the MTU dropdown menu, select the frame size.
. Click Apply.

NOTE:

If you choose to obtain a dynamic IP address from the DHCP server on your LAN, use NAS

Discovery included in the Support CD to find the NAS IP address that allows you to access

the NAS Web GUI and shared folders. See

1.5.3 NAS Discovery for details.

IMPORTANT:

Ensure that your computer network adapter, router, and NAS have the same Jumbo Frame

settings, otherwise different settings will decrease the networking performance.
