Chapter 8: FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is the benefit of connecting my NAS directly to a computer?

You may connect your NAS to a computer via an RJ-45 cable and use it as an external

HDD for expanding your computer’s storage capacity.

To connect your NAS to a computer:
1. Connect one end of the supplied RJ-45 cable to the Gigabit LAN port at the back of

your NAS.
. Connect the other end of the RJ-45 cable to your computer’s LAN port.
. Manually set your computer IP address to 192.168.0.x (

x is any number between 1 and

54 except 100, 192.168.0.100 is the default NAS IP address).

NOTE:

You may access the files and folders on the NAS through either of the following ways:

- Use the NAS network folder in Windows® My Computer to access the internal disks.

- Use File Manager included in the Web GUI to access the internal/external disks.
