Introduction
Overview of the Installation Process
This section provides an overview of how to install and configure
the Adaptec RAID controller:
1 Install and configure the controller and hard drives, as
described in
Chapter 2, Installing the Controller and Drives .
2 Your next steps depend on your system:
In a system without an operating system (fresh install)...
a Build the bootable array, as described in Creating a Bootable
RAID 5 Array on page 2-5 .
b Install the controller driver at the beginning of the operating
system installation, as described in
Chapter 3 .
c Install Adaptec Storage Manager as described in Chapter 4 .
d View, manage, and build additional arrays, as needed, using
Adaptec Storage Manager. For an overview, see
Chapter 5 .
