. The following table shows the default values for each hypervisor type.
If you exceed these values, virtual logical server provisioning might fail unexpectedly.
Default number of virtual maximum
concurrent requests
Hypervisor
esx.max.concurrent.requests=10
ESX*
hyperv.max.concurrent.requests=5
Hyper-V
integrityvm.max.concurrent.requests=5
Integrity VM
NOTE:
* The following ESX versions are supported:
3.5, 3i, 4 Classic, and 4i.
For each virtual logical server, Insight Orchestration supports up to 14 private disks or 15 shared
disks.
Setting up virtual machine networks
Network names are correlated across hypervisor and VC technologies to allow an infrastructure
service to be provisioned with logical servers of different types configured on the same network.
Employing this capability requires the eight-character limit imposed by Integrity VM to be
extended to the other hypervisor and VC configurations in the managed environment. There
may be ripple-effects into other technologies if there is a need to provision Integrity VMs with
connections to the same network as other VMs or physical servers.
Setting up an ESX virtual machine network
To add a network for use by the virtual machines provisioned through Insight Orchestration,
do the following:
1.
Open VMware Infrastructure Client, enter the IP and credentials of your Virtual Infrastructure
Server, and then click Login.
2.
For each ESX/ESXi virtual machine host in your ESX cluster, do the following:
a.
In the left navigation pane, select the virtual machine host.
b.
Select the Configuration tab.
c.
Click Networking.
d.
Click Add Networking.
e.
For connection type, select Virtual Machine, then click Next.
f.
Depending on the network configuration of your virtual machine host, either select an
existing virtual switch or select Create a virtual switch, and then click Next.
g.
In Port group properties, enter a name for your network in Network Label, and
depending on the network configuration of your virtual machine host, enter a VLAN
ID.
h.
Click Next.
3.
Click Finish.
Repeat the process for each network.
Setting up an Integrity virtual machine network
You can create an Integrity VM vswitch by using the hpvmnet command on the Integrity VM
host.
