Handling Automatic Transparent Failover
To handle automatic failover, each HP 3PAR StoreServ stores its individual quorum state. Quorums
can be in one of the following states:
•
Not started
•
Initializing
•
Started
•
Failover
•
Failsafe
The failure of HP 3PAR StoreServ array A will result in loss of remote-copy links and updates to the
quorum witness. A peer-persistence failover is automatically initiated on HP 3PAR StoreServ SystemB,
which now becomes the source. When HP 3PAR StoreServ SystemA recovers, and remote-copy
links are re-established, SystemA notices that SystemB is now the source. See
Figure 53 (page 144) .
