Wind Sensor Removal and
Installation

Removal Procedure

1.

Open the power supply cover and turn off the power.

2.

Tilt over the wind mast or tower to access the sensor.

3.

On the adapter, loosen the single screw close to the sensor. Do not
loosen any of the three screws that are used to fasten the adapter to
the mounting tube (see

Figure 3 on page 18

). Loosening these

screws will make sensor alignment necessary.

4.

Pull the sensor out of the adapter.

5.

Disconnect the cable from the sensor.

Installation Procedure

1.

Connect the cable to the sensor.

2.

Slide the sensor into the adapter making sure pin on the sensor
slides into the slot on the alignment adapter.

3.

Tighten the single screw close to the sensor.

4.

Turn on the power switch in the power supply.

5.

Connect a laptop to the TEST connector in the power supply via an
RS-232 cable.

6.

Run the Diagnostics Program on the laptop. Choose the option that
connects the sensor to the laptop with the system disconnected.

7.

Issue the WA command. The sensor must respond with a P status.

8.

Place the verifier over the sensor. The verifier must be completely
covered by the included sack, since ambient airflow may effect the
sensor readings.

9.

Issue five WA commands spaced at least 5 seconds apart. All five
responses must have a P status.

10. Remove the verifier.

11. Raise the wind mast or tower.

12. Unplug the laptop.

13. Close the power supply enclosure door.
