Removal Procedure

1.

Open the power supply door and turn off the power to the wind
sensor.

2.

Remove the 12 sensor cable wires and the ground wire from
terminal block TB2. Tie the sensor cable off to one side, so that it
is out of the way and protected from damage.

3.

Remove the two optical fibers from the fiber optic modem TX and
RX connectors. Tie the optical fibers to one side, so that they are
out of the way and protected from damage. Observe the 3-inch
minimum bending radius limitation of the fibers, do not bend them
more sharply than at a 3-inch radius.

4.

Remove the four #4 Phillips head mounting screws that hold the
fiber optic modem assembly in place and remove the assembly.

5.

Remove the two #4 Phillips head screws that retain the DB-9 cable
connector in the connector on the fiber optic modem assembly and
disconnect the cable from the fiber optic modem.

Installation Procedure

1.

While holding the fiber optic modem, plug in the DB-9 cable and
install the 2 #4 Phillips head screws to retain the cable connector in
the connector on the fiber optic modem.

2.

Install the four #4 Phillips head screws to secure the fiber optic
modem assembly to the power supply module assembly.

3.

Untie the optical fibers and connect them to the corresponding RX
and TX connectors on the fiber optic modem. Observe the 3-inch
minimum bending radius limitation of the fibers, do not bend them
more sharply than at a 3-inch radius. Tighten them gently.
