The zoom lens of this unit allows you to change the focal length from wide-angle, which

allows you to record a majestic landscape, to telephoto zoom, which allows you to

enlarge a small distant subject. You can also increase the zoom ratio further by changing

the setting.

Use the zoom lever to adjust the range of the picture to be

taken

•The zoom speed can be set to one of 2 levels

using the angle at which the zoom lever is moved.

The illustration is an example of when using Extended optical zoom, [i.ZOOM], and

[Digital Zoom].

•When [Zoom Resume] in the [Lens Resume] menu is set to [ON], the zoom ratio

saved in the memory the last time the camera was turned off is automatically restored

when the camera is turned on.

Do not touch the lens barrel during zooming.

Adjust the focus after adjusting the zoom.

The zoom ratio and the zoom bar displayed on the screen are estimates.

The camera may make a rattling noise and vibrate when the zoom lever is operated -

this is not a malfunction.

Zoom cannot be used in the following cases:

•[3D Photo Mode] ([Scene Mode])

•[Macro Zoom] (Only the Digital Zoom will function up to 3x.)
