10.2 Having problems receiving a fax
Fax status Major cause Corrective actions
The received image is not clear. Is the specified paper being
used? Use the specified paper.
Is the paper damp? Replace with new paper.
Is toner sufficient? Install a new Toner Bottle. For
details, refer to [Quick Guide
Copy/Print/Fax/Scan Opera-
tions].
Is there a problem with a destina-
tion fax machine? Make a copy on this machine to
check the result. If a copy image
is clear, ask the sender to send
the fax again.
Blank paper is received. Is toner sufficient? Install a new Toner Bottle. For
details, refer to [Quick Guide
Copy/Print/Fax/Scan Opera-
tions].
Does the sender load the origi-
nal, turning it over? Check with the sender.
Faxes are not received automat-
ically. Has the Receive Mode been set
to Manual RX? Set to Auto RX. (p. 7-24)
Is the memory full? If paper out occurs, add paper,
and print out files saved in the
memory.
Is a message displayed? Release the message as instruct-
ed in the screen.
The received paper contains
some black streaks. Is there a problem with a destina-
tion fax machine? Make a copy on this machine to
check the result. If a copy image
is clear, ask the sender to send
the fax again.
