Using a Confidential User Box for sending and receiving (Confi-
dential communication)

The confidential communication is a function used to transfer an original between you and specific persons
using the Confidential User Box. This function requires a User Box ID, enabling you to safely transfer a con-
fidential document by fax.

Sending an original to a Confidential User Box of the recipient machine is referred to as confidential trans-
mission, and receiving an original in a Confidential User Box of your machine is referred to as confidential
reception.

This machine supports up to five Confidential User Boxes. For details, refer to page 7-16.

If an F code of a destination is registered in one-touch dial or speed dial in advance, an F-code communica-
tion can be sent to a destination. For details, refer to page 4-2.

This section explains how to register a Confidential User Box, use a confidential transmission, and print out
a received original in a Confidential User Box.

4.2.1

Registering a Confidential User Box

To use the confidential reception, you must register a Confidential User Box in advance. For details on the
registration procedure, refer to page 7-16.

4.2.2

Sending data to a Confidential User Box (Confidential transmission)

The confidential transmission is a function used to send data to a Confidential User Box of a destination.

It is available when sending an important document to a specific person.

Tips

The confidential transmission function supports F-code communication. A machine compatible with an
F code can be selected as a destination of confidential transmission.

To use this function, specify a destination and configure a Confidential User Box setting.

To check a fax document in the destination side, enter a User Box ID.
